Results: Pedigree Comics’ August Grand Auction
The August Grand Auction at Pedigree Comics began the night of Sunday, August 25, 2013 and ended the night of Wednesday, September 4 with total sales of $924,355. With post-auction deals pending, the total should approach $1 million, the company said.
Among the notable activity was the attention paid to The Cole Schave Collection.
“The Cole Schave Collection, which I purchased in July, was the obvious highlight of the auction. There were 68 early Silver Age Marvels in his personal collection (runs of Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Journey Into Mystery and Tales of Suspense), all in high grade and almost all in 9.4 and higher. These books all sold incredibly well with many record prices achieved,” said Doug Schmell, President and CEO of Pedigree Comics.
“There were many other collections and consignments in the auction and the sales of these books were very brisk as well. I want to thank all of my consignors for making this auction, our best so far of 2013, such a successful one. I also want to thank Cole Schave for giving Pedigree Comics first opportunity to purchase his amazing collection,” he said.
