ReelArt Studios continues to set the bar for collectible character statues pretty high, and they haven’t disappointed yet.

Legendary illustrator Hal Foster’s iconic creation Prince Valiant has been revealed as an upcoming release in ReelArt’s Golden Age Classics statue line. Inspired by an original Foster image, Prince Valiant is sculpted by Joy and Tom Snyder. Produced in 1:8 scale, the piece features the young warrior astride his horse, mounted on a base that measures 10” across.

According to ReelArt’s Michael Hudson, the prototype was well-received by King Features, holders of the Prince Valiant copyright, and has been enthusiastically approved for production. Plans call for a tentative release in the second quarter of 2008. Edition size has not yet been set.
