Emiko Queen is a master archer and martial artist who has taken the mantle of Green Arrow, Red Arrow, and been a member of the Teen Titans and the Justice League. She is Oliver Queen/Green Arrow’s younger half-sister and was introduced in Green Arrow #18 (March 2013).

Emiko was created by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino as the daughter of Robert Queen (Ollie’s dad) and archer/assassin Shado. Emiko was kept secret from the paternal side of her family and was kidnapped by Komodo when she was an infant. He then raised her as his own and trained her to become an assassin. She met her brother, though didn’t know it at the time, while protecting Komodo.

Later when Green Arrow saved Shado from Count Vertigo, she confessed that Emiko was his half-sister. Once Emiko discovered the truth herself, she confronted Komodo and when he confirmed it, she killed him. Oliver then offered to take her in and she agreed to his offer of a fresh start.

When DC rebooted continuity as DC Rebirth, Emiko was a hero working alongside her brother to save children who had been kidnapped. But when Shado showed up at Oliver’s apartment, Emiko shot him in the back with an arrow. Emiko and Shado took Oliver onto a boat, sailed away from Seattle, and dumped Oliver’s body in the ocean. Despite this, Oliver survived, and it put Shado in trouble with her employers, the Ninth Circle crime organization. To help her mother, Emiko hatched a plan to kidnap Black Canary and bring her to the Ninth Circle’s base.

It was then that Emiko revealed herself to be a double agent. She rescued Dinah from harm and found Oliver, who had made his way to the island. Emiko told Ollie that she had slipped a homing beacon into his pocket when they dumped him in the ocean so that he could be located by Henry Fyff, and told John Diggle the secret location of the Ninth Circle base. Once the heroes destroyed the base, she returned with them to Seattle and started going by Red Arrow.
