Featuring a tremendous mixture of magic and magic-related lots, Random
Treasures’ first auction certainly qualified as a success. Many of the items
sold went above the dealer’s initial expectations.

The most popular
seemed to be the Houdini related lots, but in truth, almost every lot did well.
There were not only magic items in this auction; there was a solid selection of
movie posters, books, advertising material and even a pair of Houdini’s
handcuffs.

While almost everything listed among the over 550 lots sold, two notable
items saw fanatic bidding. Bidding on the King Kong three-sheet from the film’s
original release went up to $83,148.00, but did not meet its reserve. The
Houdini Milk Can Escape, on the other hand, sold for a dazzling $78,664.60 after
rapid-fire bidding.
