Propstore Records 1.6M on First Day of Music Memorabilia Auction
Propstore’s London Music Memorabilia Live Auction hit an early high note with £1,666,500 (about $2.2 million) realized on the first day of the auction. Over 400 lots of instruments, handwritten lyrics, stage-used pieces, and personal items were offered on October 23, 2025.
The auction’s top price went to Noel Gallagher’s red Gibson ES-355 guitar that sold for £289,800 ($382,536). Gallagher used the guitar often during the band’s early years and it was famously damaged at Oasis’ final concert in Paris in 2009. The sale made it the highest grossing sale of Oasis memorabilia sold at auction.

Propstore’s auction featured multiple Oasis and Noel Gallagher items with several on the list of top sellers. The complete collection of Gallagher’s handwritten lyrics for every song on all seven Oasis studio albums reached £75,600 ($99,792). Gallagher’s screen and photo matched guild JF55-12 string acoustic guitar played during Oasis: Live by the Sea, “Whatever” music video, TV performances, and album recordings hammered for £50,400 ($66,528). The Oasis (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? tour stage backdrop went for £31,500 ($41,580).
The auction’s second highest seller was Banksy’s Think Tank original graffiti art that sold for £107,100 ($141,372). Elvis Presley’s original pair of worn Grand Prix sunglasses brought £75,600 ($99,792) and Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” music video white fedora realized £50,400 ($66,528).

The Beatles’ John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr signed Swedish tour poster went for £31,500 ($41,580). Jimi Hendrix handwritten working lyrics for “Straight Ahead” cleared £40,950 ($54,054). Freddie Mercury’s kimono sold for £10,080 ($13,505) and David Bowie’s handwritten and signed letter to John Peel realized £7,560 ($9,979).
“Day 1 delivered some truly exceptional results. The record breaking sale of Noel Gallagher’s red Gibson guitar not only set a new benchmark for an Oasis instrument but also marked the highest total ever achieved for Oasis memorabilia worldwide. It’s an incredible start for Propstore’s Music Memorabilia Live Auction, and we’re excited to see what Day 2 will bring,” Propstore’s Music Specialist Mark Hochman said.
