The long-awaited trailer for Masters of the Universe is finally here. Based on the 1980s toy line and animated series, the live-action film introduces Adam, a young man living in our world who is destined to become He-Man.

“After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia, where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor. To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and embrace his true destiny as He-Man – the most powerful man in the universe,” according to the synopsis.

The trailer begins with shots of Eternia, Castle Grayskull, and the Power Sword, as Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) reveals that he was taken away from his magical home of Eternia when he was a boy. Now, he is working an office job and dreaming about a way back to his home, which he finds while searching for the Power Sword.

Teela (Camila Mendes) arrives to bring him home, which includes a great shot of Adam, Teela, Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), Cringer, and Roboto. As Adam witnesses the current state of the kingdom, there’s a shot of Skeletor (Jared Leto), Fisto (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson), Evil-Lyn (Alison Brie), and other villains that he’ll face. The trailer ends with Adam shouting his signature line to transform into He-Man, a cinematic moment with Skeletor and his forces, and the impending battle between hero and villain.

Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee) with a screenplay by Chris Butler (ParaNorman), Aaron Nee and Adam Nee (The Lost City), and Dave Callaham (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse).

The cast also includes Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress, James Purefoy as King Randor, Kristen Wiig voicing Roboto, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, and Sasheer Zamata as Adam’s coworker Suzie.

The movie will be in theaters on June 5, 2026.
