Preview of the December Issue of PREVIEWS
The December issue of Diamond Comic Distributors’ monthly PREVIEWS arrived in comic book stores and hobby shops on November 25, 2015. The catalog will showcase the comics, graphic novels, toys, and other pop culture merchandise that will be in stores beginning in February 2016.
On the front cover Grant Morrison and Yanick Paquette go back to the beginning with Wonder Woman in DC’s upcoming graphic novel, Wonder Woman Earth One. The back cover depicts the collapse of civilization due to an ice age with art from Joe Harris and Martin Morazzo’s new series Snowfall from Image Comics.
In “Unsung Heroes,” this issue takes a look at indie heroes trying to carve a space for themselves among a crowded field of superheroes. In “On the Flipside” PREVIEWS talks to publisher :01 First Second’s Editorial Director Mark Siegel and Associate Marketing and Publicity Manger Gina Gagliano about the company’s tenth anniversary, their past and where they’ll go in the future.
Their “Gems of the Month” include Lara Croft back at Dark Horse in new Tomb Raider series, Superman will face a multiversal threat in DC’s Superman: The Coming of the Superman miniseries by Neal Adams, IDW will host a crossover event in Street Fighter x G.I. Joe through a secret fighting tournament, Emma Rios and Hwei Lim will explore 8House in Image’s new series Mirror, and the return of Marvel’s Power Man and Iron Fist.
“Splash” will spotlight the debut of Miles Morales Marvel’s Spider-Man from Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, Dynamite begins a new era with Dejah Thoris, the Fourth Doctor will offer Jelly Babies in Titan’s Doctor Who: The Fourth Doctor, and Looney Labs is unleashing Firefly Fluxx.
Clothing and apparel available in the December issue of PREVIEWS includes DC Bombshells panty and camisole sets featuring Harley Quinn and Wonder Woman art of Ant Lucia, the Red Hood’s symbol is on the DC Comics: Red Hood “Flip” black t-shirt, and Howard the Duck appears on the “Space Duck” black t-shirt.
In the “Indie Edge,” PREVIEWS interviews Captain Canuck writer Kalman Andrasofszky about the comic, what he’s reading, and his career.
This issue also features staff picks, monthly Certified Cool books, the Bestseller Charts, and more. PREVIEWS can be purchased for $3.99 in comic shops on November 25.
