The PopXP channel’s Nile Scala hosted Gemstone Publishing’s J.C. Vaughn to discuss our newly released book, The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide To Lost Universes on Thursday night, February 25, 2022.

The show is now available on YouTube (and it’s posted below this text).

“It was a great show. Nile was very prepared with specific questions about the book. And he wasn’t the only one; it was clear from the feedback in the chat and the questions we got that the audience was ready, too. There were great reactions,” Vaughn said. “As more and more people get to see this book, the word is going to keep getting out about it.”

The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide To Lost Universes is a 640-page, full-color hybrid of a price guide and a Photo-Journal. All of the comics listed in the book are also pictured. There are also many articles and interviews that offer context on the sometimes-forgotten comic book worlds.

Atlas-Seaboard, Comics Greatest World (Dark Horse), CrossGen, DEFIANT, Future Comics, The Kirbyverse (Topps), Mighty Crusaders (MLJ/Archie), original Milestone Media, New Universe (Marvel), T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents (Tower), The Ultraverse (Malibu), original Valiant, and more are included.

The book is available in hardcover ($35) and soft cover ($25) in a choice of three cover versions: Mighty Crusaders by Jerry Ordway, Ironjaw by Lee Weeks, and Star Brand by Alex Saviuk and Tom Palmer. There is also a signed and numbered limited edition with a Dark Dominion cover by J.G. Jones.

We’re also hearing from industry figures whose companies were profiled in the book, too.

The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide to Lost Universes is not just a delightful, nostalgic ramble through the colorful kaleidoscope of heroes and villains of the past, it is also a valuable historical document and tremendously well-researched resource. Congrats to the team that put it together. Well done. Every comics fan should have this book in their collection,” said Dave Olbrich, former publisher of Malibu Comics.

POPXP is a YouTube series with hosts Tucci, Nile Scala, and various special guest hosts who rotate between creators involved in crowd-sourcing projects, comic books, film, television, cosplay, gaming, and collectibles. The series features titans within their industry, retailers with online or brick and mortar stores, as well as up and comers that are starting strong. It is like a comic book convention all wrapped in one gift straight to viewers’ homes.
