Three early Segar Popeye dailies, a Peanuts Sunday by Charles Schulz (featuring the Great Pumpkin) and more are being listed in the upcoming Phillip Weiss Auction. The event, which also includes work by Joe Kubert, Murphy Anderson and others, as well as cartoon art from the files of Fling Magazine is scheduled to be held on October 20-21, 2007.

The art, as well as a museum quality collection of 1960’s-1970’s rock posters, can be found in the first session, scheduled to begin at 10:00 am. The afternoon session moves from comics and art to a large estate sale packed with original art, glass, pottery, fine furniture and more. The second day of the sale also features and estate sale that includes everything from mechanical banks to silver and art.

The first morning session also contains a large amount of comic books. Those unfamiliar with the Long Island auctioneer can find information, as well as complete listings for the event at Phillip Weiss Auctions. You can also reach them by calling 516-594-0731.
