Philly Non-Sports Card Show October 10-11
The 51st edition of the Philly Non-Sports Card Show, the premier event for non-sport and entertainment card collectors, is set to take place Saturday and Sunday, October 10-11, 2009, at the Merchants Square Mall 1901 S 12th Street, Allentown, PA 18103.
Card Collectors will find a plethora of cards old and new at the Philly Show, everything from Horrors of War, Mars Attacks, and vintage Wacky Packages to Stargate, Marvel, and Twilight. On hand will be five guest artists, many of whom will be creating sketch cards at the show. Those artists include Scott Barnett, Leah Falk, Otis Frampton, Jim Kyle and Warren Martinkeck. Their work can be found in many non-sport trading card releases including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Marvel Masterpieces, Marilyn Monroe, Doctor Who, and others.
Several publishers and trading card manufacturers will be also be on-hand including Breygent Marketing, Non-Sport Update, Rittenhouse Archives, and The Topps Vault. Show attendees will receive free promotional cards from some of these companies and all attendees will receive free and exclusive Philly Show promotional cards with paid admission.
A special breakfast on Sunday morning for NSU Card Talk forum members and guests will be held (advance registration is required). The Merchants Square Mall will also be open throughout the weekend and is a wonderful place to shop for antiques and collectibles. DorneyPark will also be open. The amusement park offers roller coasters and other rides for those family members who may not be interested in attending the show. Additionally, the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, PA is now open and is less than 20 minutes away.
Admission to the Philly Non-Sports Card Show is just $6 daily. A two-day pass may be purchased for $10. Show hours are Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, 10 AM to 3 PM. Complete show details can be found on Non-Sport Update’s website.
