There are a lot of webcomics out there, so you can be pardoned if you’ve thus far missed Perils On Planet X by writer Christopher Mills and artist Gene Gonzales, but that pardon runs out now because we’re telling you about it. You can still start from Page 1 of the first issue or jump right in on Page 1 of Chapter 2 (we recommend starting from the beginning).

Here’s how the creators describe the series: “Perils On Planet X is a swashbuckling adventure on a lost planet… join Colonel Donovan Hawke of Terra as he travels through time and space to the ancient emerald world of Xylos – home of vicious reptilian predators, ruthless strato-pirates, beautiful princesses, and innumerable fantastic dangers!”

It easily lives up to the billing, by the way. It’s a very enjoyable series, a new page is posted each Friday, and it’s free to read.

Longtime Overstreet contributor Gonzales was the wrtier-artist who created Tales of the Cherokee, and Mills is a veteran comic book writer-editor.

If you like Edgar Rice Burroughs or Alex Raymond-inspired adventure, give it a look.
