Pedigree Lands New Selection from MegaCon

Pedigree Comics‘ upcoming Grand Auction, slated to begin the night of Sunday, April 18, 2010 and last for 10 days till Wednesday evening, April 28, is shaping into “an ultra high grade event that you will not want to miss,” acording to the company’s President and CEO, Doug Schmell.

He said a new group of CGC-certified 9.4 to 9.8 1960s and ‘70s Marvels and DCs has recently been added to the Auction Preview and that “over 100 never-before-seen Silver and Bronze books will be added in time for the auction.” All were recently obtained at last weekend’s MegaCon in Orlando, Florida.

The MegaCon group consists of nearly every Marvel title imaginable, Schmell said, plus a few choice DC ones.

The highlight is the over 20 book X-Men run from #6 to #66, all in 9.2 and higher CGC grade with almost every issue in 9.4 and 9.6. Other titles include Adventure Comics, Amazing Spider-Man, Avengers, Brave and the Bold, Captain America, Daredevil, Defenders, Fantastic Four, Green Lantern, Incredible Hulk, Journey Into Mystery, Justice League of America, Tales of Suspense, Tales to Astonish and more. The MegaCon comics will be added to the Auction Preview in the next four weeks.

The company’s website and Scoop will also feature news for this latest Grand Auction.

The Auction Preview now includes more than 100 high-grade issues from Marvel, DC and Gold Key, including Amazing Spider-Man #14 9.6, Amazing Spider-Man #17 9.6, Astonishing Tales #25 9.8, Avengers #24 9.6, and Avengers #127 9.8.

Marvel’s “Man Without Fear” is represented in a selection that includes Daredevil #25 9.6 (PacificCoast), #45 9.8 (Bowling Green), #76 9.8 (Christie’s Copy), #79 9.8 (Bowling Green), #92 9.6 (Don Rosa), #131 9.8, #158 9.8 (first Frank Miller), and #168 9.6 (Elektra).

Also up for grabs will be Fantastic Four #73 9.6 (Valparaiso), Fantastic Four #130 9.8, Flash #165 9.6 (Boston), Forever People #1 9.6, Green Lantern #85 9.8, Jonny Quest #1 9.4, Journey Into Mystery #83 9.0, Journey Into Mystery #120 9.6, and Justice League of America #1 9.4.

The selection also includes New Gods #1 9.6, Sgt.
