Peanuts Sunday, Daily Up For Bid

in the current Hake’s Americana Auction. One is a daily from September 1, 1951,
the other a Sunday dated October 23, 1955. Both are signed by the
artist.
One of the pieces of original art being offered inside the
current Hake’s auction is from the very first year that Peanuts saw
publication. When the strip debuted in eight papers on October 2, 1950, no one
could have possibly envisioned the success that lay ahead.
The second
piece is a full-sized Sunday page. It shows how far Schulz had come with the
characters in just five years, and is a marvelous example of the beautiful
interplay between the characters.
