Nine Beanie Babies, created by Ty Warner’s company Ty Inc, were originally launched in 1993. He wanted to make a line of stuffed animals that can bend and pose, so he filled them with plastic pellets, or beans, instead of stuffing. Warner wanted to stop making them in the late 1990s, but they became a huge phenomenon, effectively changing his mind.
