Peacemaker Season 2 Gets Premiere Date, New Footage

Peacemaker is ready for another round of killing for peace. James Gunn has shared new footage and the premiere date for Peacemaker season two.

Gunn posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) announcing that Peacemaker will start streaming season two on August 21, 2025, on Max. He also stated that he finished work on the first episode and called it “one of my favorite things ever.”

The clip shows Peacemaker (John Cena) reacting to an explosion and giving the camera a thumbs up. He’s seen jumping off of a building and crashing through a window, and then he’s shown in the car with Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brooks) who calls him a “superhero.”

Peacemaker was born out of 2021’s The Suicide Squad in which Peacemaker was a member of Amanda Waller’s Task Force X. Once he recovered from injuries sustained during the movie, Peacemaker was informed that he could either return to prison or continue working for Waller and A.R.G.U.S. Throughout season one, Peacemaker, a team of A.R.G.U.S. agents, and fellow antihero Vigilante investigate an alien invasion.

Season one stars Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Freddie Stroma are also back for season two. New cast members include David Denman, Tim Meadows, Sol Rodriguez, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.
