Dark Horse Books is publishing the full Concrete series from creator/writer/artist Paul Chadwick. The book is back in print for the first time in 20 years, starting with Concrete Omnibus Volume 1.

The omnibus presents the first two volumes of the title, Depths and Heights. Depths presents early Concrete stories like “Orange Glow” and Chadwick’s autobiographical tale “Vagabond”  about hitchhiking across the country. Heights includes Concrete #6-10, the Concrete color special “World Beneath the Skin,” and “Brighter.” A new introduction by Chadwick and expanded sketchbook section are also included.

Chadwick’s tale about a man whose brain was put inside a living stone body debuted in Dark Horse Presents #1 (July 1986). The first ten-issue Concrete series ran from April 1987 to November 1988, and won back to back Eisner Awards for Best Black and White Series. Several Concrete one-shots and limited series were released in the ‘90s and into the early 2000s. Dark Horse recently began the new Concrete: Stars Over Sand series in June 2026.

The complete omnibus collection will include all of the original volumes and the “Three Uneasy Pieces” one-shot. The recent Stars Over Sand, short stories, Dark Horse Presents stories, and more from Chadwick’s creative process will be included.

Concrete Omnibus Volume 1 contains 544 pages in paperback form. The book will be in comic shops on June 1, 2027.
