Patrick Warburton Returns as The Tick
Frequent Seinfeld guest star and busy animation voice-actor (Family Guy, Venture Bros.) Patrick Warburton will return as The Tick in a new streaming series from Amazon.com, People magazine has reported. The original TV series based on the comic book character created by Ben Edlund ran a scant nine episodes during the 2001-2002 TV season on Fox. It garnered significant critical praise, but only low ratings.
After writing and illustrating 12 issues of the original comic book series for New England Comics, Edlund bolstered his credits as a producer on Joss Whedon’s Firefly, supervising producer on Whedon’s Angel, co-executive producer on Point Pleasant, and consulting producer on Supernatural and Revolution.
People offered no word on additional casting. The original TV series co-starred David Burke (Chuck) as Arthur, Liz Vassey (Nikki & Nora: The N&N Files) as Captain Liberty, and Nestor Carbonell (The Dark Knight Rises) as Batmanuel.
