The first new issue of Painkiller Jane since her crossover with the
Punisher in 2001 has sold out from its publisher, Dynamite Entertainment.
Created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada in their Event Comics days (before
they founded Marvel Knights imprint and before Quesada became Marvel’s
Editor-in-Chief), Jane has been the subject of heavy promotion in the last few
months.

Plotted by Quesada and Palmiotti, written by Palmiotti, and
illustrated by Lee Moder, the issue was produced with covers by Quesada and
Palmiotti, Amanda Conner and Palmiotti, Moder, and Billy
Tan.

Painkiller Jane tells the story of Jane Vasko, a former
undercover police officer who receives mysterious regenerative powers that
enable her, like a Timex, to take a licking and keep on ticking. Following her
debut in Events Comics’ 22 Brides (1996), she appeared in her own
five-issue mini-series (1997) and crossovers with Hellboy, Darkchylde,
Vampirella, and The Darkness (1997-1998) prior to her team-up with the Punisher.
A stand-alone Painkiller Jane #0 was published in 1999. She was the
subject of a Sci Fi Channel movie in December 2005.
