Overstreet Guide to Grading Comics 7th Edition Now in Stores
The Overstreet Guide to Grading Comics – Seventh Edition is now in comic shops and available through online retailers. The new edition is offered in both hardcover and softcover versions with cover art by Billy Tucci.
The hardcover carries a cover price of $39.95, while the softcover features a $29.95 suggested retail price. Comic book retailers can order or re-order from Lunar, Universal, and Diamond UK.
The new Seventh Edition includes:
- The 10-point grading system
- Exhaustive descriptions of Primary and Split Grades
- More than 200 full-color image examples
- Profiles of third-party grading companies
- And detailed information on
- Storage
- Preservation
- Restoration
- The Evolution of Grading
- Much more

The book opens with lively, comic-style introductory material told in comic book form. The main section of the book features the material fans, collectors, dealers, and comics historians have come to trust over decades. It features the grading definitions and examples similar to the sold-out Sixth Edition that now regularly sells for over $100 on eBay.
“If you want to get a quick education on grading standards or brush up on your skills as a grader, it’s hard to find a better resource than this new edition. It invites new collectors in, encourages experienced dealers and collectors, and spells out the time-honored Overstreet grading standards clearly,” Gemstone Editor-Digital Amanda Sheriff said. “While the main contents – the grading definitions and photo-illustrated examples – will be familiar to our readers, the book has really been dramatically freshened up. We can’t wait for readers to see it.”
“The Sixth Edition received great reactions and sold out faster than our previous editions. Since it sold out, the demand has increased significantly and some of the outlier prices realized for copies have truly been astounding,” Gemstone Publishing Editor-Print Mark Huesman said. “We’re glad to produce this new edition since it’s so obviously in demand.”
