Overstreet @ 50: Five Decades of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide
As The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #50’s Spawn/Spider-Man and Wynonna Earp covers have received well-deserved attention, we also want to spotlight our companion book, Overstreet @ 50: Five Decades Of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide.
Telling the story behind the book called The Bible of serious comic book collectors, dealers and historians, Overstreet @ 50: Five Decades of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide is now featured on Page 312 in the March PREVIEWS from Diamond Comic Distributors and on the PreviewsWorld site.
Set to go on sale May 20, two months ahead of Guide #50, both the soft cover ($20) and the hardcover ($30) editions of this full color book feature an Incredible Hulk cover by acclaimed artist Joe Jusko.
The 50-year history of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide is documented and celebrated in this lush volume. This book features an extensive interview with Bob Overstreet, commentaries from historian and former DC Comics President and Publisher Paul Levitz, former CBG Editor Maggie Thompson, Wynonna Earp creator Beau Smith, pioneering comics dealers David T. Alexander and Buddy Saunders, CGC conservation expert Matt Nelson, CBCS founder Steve Borock, and others.
The book also includes Bob Overstreet’s top five favorite Guide articles from the book’s five decades, a behind the scenes look at the development of the Guide, a cover gallery, the Overstreet Hall of Fame, and a number of other surprises.
“Everyone on the staff is excited to be a part of this historic golden anniversary, something that wouldn’t be possible without Bob Overstreet’s original initiative, the participation of many advisors of the years, and the support of generations of comic book readers,” said J.C. Vaughn, Vice-President of Publishing for Gemstone Publishing.
“And we’re pleased to welcome back Joe Jusko, whose incredible covers have been featured on the Guide itself and two our the books in our ‘How To’ line previously,” he said.
The May 20 release of Overstreet @ 50 follows the release of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #1 Facsimile Edition on April 8 and The Overstreet Guide To Collecting – Free Comic Book Day Edition on Saturday, May 2.
Gemstone Publishing always recommends ordering from your local comic book shop. If, however, you don’t live near a shop, we will have both the soft cover and the hardcover editions available on our site.
