shops this past Wednesday and the increased volume of information and the new
size met with instant approval. The inclusion of six columns of pricing
information this year resulted in the is first substantial change in the
physical format of the book since the change from saddle stitch (staples)
binding to the familiar soft cover and hard cover formats we knew for
years.
The bookstore version of the Guide should be in stores
shortly.
Vincent Zuzolo, Jr. of Metropolis Collectibles called in early
in the day with his comments, as did CGC’s Steve Borock, and Comics
Spotlight’s Charlie Noviniskie.
“I use the Guide all
year long but not as a price guide. I use it for historical reference and
research,” said Image Comics publisher Jim Valentino. “I have always
found it invaluable. One of the things that pleases me about this edition is
you’ve fixed the problem with entrees falling into the book’s
gutters-yay!”
“I really like the new
Guide,” said CGC employee Dale Moore.
“I like the new
format of this year’s Guide and this is a great benefit to
everyone,” said Dave Anderson of Want List Comics. “The additions of
the VG and VF/NM prices are a great improvement.”
“I can’t
tell you how much we enjoy it,” said Beau Smith of IDW Publishing,
“It’s a great book and as usual it’s a ‘must
have.’”
“The Price Guide looks very nice this
year!” said Michael Naiman, who liked the articles and echoed Valentino’s
comments regarding the amount of space provided in the layout for the
information.
“Congratulations on another excellent year!”
said retailer Gary Dolgoff.
