In the thriller Phone Booth, ladies man Colin Farrell
stars as a guy who makes the awful mistake of picking up a ringing NYC payphone.
On the other end is a serial killer with a sniper rifle who warns him that he’ll
be shot if he hangs up. Miscommunication, literally, ensues. The police arrive
near the scene to check out an unrelated crime, and begin to suspect that
Farrell is the bad guy. Before long, a media circus has surrounded the booth,
and the sniper can see it all…Creepy!
Nickelodeon sweetheart Amanda
Bynes stars in What a Girl Wants, a charming little tale of a young
American gal who nearly has everything – except a relationship with her
mysterious British father. So, she hops a flight to London and finds that pops
is actually high-profile London politician Lord Henry Dashwood (played by the
ever dapper Colin Firth). All sorts of funnybusiness occurs as Lord Henry tries
to adapt to this new addition in his life…especially as an upcoming election
throws things out of whack.
In A Man Apart, Vin Diesel stars as a
member of the DEA who, with his partner, is involved in fighting a drug war on
the California/Mexico border. Once they finally imprison one of the most
dangerous guys, however, a mysterious character called “Diablo”
comes onto the scene. In the ensuing action, Vin’s wife is killed…and revenge
becomes his main mission.
Get ready to meet a DysFunKtional Family
as Eddie Griffin shocks and amuses with this outrageous concert film. Featuring
interviews with Griffin’s Kansas City family and a wild and crazy stand-up
routine that takes often harrowing experiences and puts an oddly humorous twist
on them, let’s just say this is one film that’s not for the easily offended.
