October 25: Tigercon
Once again, Tigercon will return to Towson University’s campus for another day jam-packed with anime, video games, panels, cosplay, and more. On October 25, 2014 the convention will take over TU’s University Union, located near the center of campus in Towson, MD.
This is a free event and is open to everyone, not just Towson students. The first Tigercon was held in 2008 and since then has become a successful annual event. Guests this year include the Baltimore Gamer Symphony Orchestra, who will also perform during the convention. Other events this year include the “Anime Dating Game,” which the convention previously ran but has been absent from recent Tigercon events.
Besides music, gaming and cosplay, Tigercon also features a sizable Artists’ Alley. This is a great opportunity to see up-and-coming artists showing off their work and to get a chance to buy some handmade crafts. Among those vending at Tigercon this year is Scoop’s own Carrie Wood.
More information about Tigercon, including schedules and directions, can be found on their website and on Facebook.
