
OAFCon Guest List for September 2025 Show
OAFCon, the Oklahoma Alliance of Fans’ longstanding comic convention, will be held this fall on September 26-28, 2025. The convention is hosting a group of comic creators and industry professionals including David Michelinie, Angel Medina, Julian Shaw, Anthony Tollin, Buddy Saunders, John Wooley, and Frankie Frazetta.
Michelinie has been writing comics for over 50 years with more than 600 comic stories under his belt. He created characters like Venom, Carnage, and Taskmaster, and has worked in every genre from superheroes to Westerns to horror. He has written short stories for anthologies, written for periodicals, poetry, and scripts for animated series.
Medina illustrated Berserker and Megaton at Megaton Comics, and Dreadstar and Hammer of God at First Publishing. His work at Marvel includes The Incredible Hulk, Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Venom: Dark Origins. His work is also featured in Spawn and Kiss: Psycho Circus at Image.
Shaw is an artist whose work has been featured in Marvel titles like Marvel Voices, Captain America: Symbol of Truth, Spider-Man, Edge of the Spider-Verse, Strange Academy: Moon Knight, X-Men Unlimited, Moon Girl, and more.
Tollin is an artist and colorist with 25 years of experience in the comic industry. He spent years working on DC’s Superman, Green Lantern, New Teen Titans, Batman, Detective Comics, Warlord, Crisis on Infinite Earths, Justice League of America, and Ambush Bug. As a colorist, he worked with artists like Curt Swan, George Pérez, Don Newton, Gil Kane, Jim Aparo, Joe Kubert, and many more.
Saunders began his career working on fanzines, publishing Star-Studded Comics (featuring early work by George R.R. Martin and Jim Starlin) and he contributed to Rocket’s Blast Comicollector. He started his mail order service in 1961, and owned and operated Lone Star Comics that was founded in 1977. Since Lone Star Comics closed, Saunders and his family started operating MyComicShop.com.
Wooley is a writer, novelist, and pop culture historian whose work is featured in The Twilight Avenger and The Miracle Squad, and he wrote introductions for Bob Powell’s Complete Jet Powers and Complete Cave Girl. His comic credits include Plan Nine: Thirty Years Later, Dan Turner: Hollywood Detective, Death Rattle, and Grateful Dead Comix.
Frazetta is the grandson of fantasy artist Frank Frazetta. He is the manager of the Frazetta Art Museum where he preserves and promotes his grandfather’s work through licensing collaborations and curated collections.
The Oklahoma Alliance of Fans is one of America’s oldest comic groups and cons. The convention will be filled with over 100 tables of Golden to Modern Age comics.
OAFCon will be held at the Embassy Suites Norman Hotel & Conference Center located at 2501 Conference Drive in Norman, Oklahoma. Tickets are just $10-20 for the weekend, and can be purchased at oafcomicconcom.
