The Third Annual New York Comic Con Charity Art Auction to benefit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be held on Saturday, October 12, at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan. Heritage Auctions’ Steve Borock, a Hero Initiative board member and former President of CGC, will be the auctioneer.

Over 80 creators attending NYCC 2013 will be generously donating original art for the auction including Adam Hughes, Tony Daniel, Amanda Conner, Adi Granov, Dave Johnson, Olivier Coipel, Joe Maduriera, Mark Brooks, Cliff Chiang, Alex Maleev, Dustin Nguyen, Jerome Opena, Shane Davis, Ryan Stegman, Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez, Sara Pichelli, Humberto Ramos, Ivan Reis, Walter Simonson and many more.

The event’s motto is simple: Have Fun. Get Art. Save Lives.

Your participation in this event will help support lifesaving research and treatment for the children of St. Jude. Come down and bid with other art enthusiasts for the chance to own a piece of original art from some of your favorite creators, all for a good cause!

The auction will be held from 8 PM to 10 PM in room 1A17.

In the last few years, ReedPop has raised $70,000 for St. Jude. Their goal for NYCC 2013 is to raise $30,000 to bring their cumulative total to date to over $100,000.

As we’ve done each of the last two years, Scoop is very happy to help get the word out about this outstanding charity effort.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Included in that vision is that no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.

You can also simply donate to St. Jude even if you don’t wish to bid.
