Veteran comics writer-artist-editor Larry Hama (G.I. Joe) has been added to the guest list of the November 23-24, 2013 edition of the long-running Virginia Comicon. The two-day version of the show returns that Saturday and Sunday at the Old Dominion Building at the Richmond International Raceway, 600 East Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222.

Hama joins fellow G.I. Joe creators Herb Trimpe and SL Gallant on the guest roster. Additionally, Scoop has learned the convention has signed a deal with IDW Publishing for a convention exclusive G.I. Joe cover featuring the Baroness by Gallant. And for all of those veteran or retro G.I. Joe fans, the Baroness will be sporting her “pin-up-gal” bangs.

The show already looks to be the largest Virginia Comicon to date as the show previously announced Deadpool, X-Force and Youngblood artist Rob Liefeld, Incredible Hulk artist and Wolverine co-creator Trimpe, and Top Cow Productions President Matt Hawkins as headliners.

Also on board will be acclaimed Archie writer-artist Dan Parent, Bloop! writer-artist Steve Conley, Archer lead character designer Sam Ellis, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe artist Pop Mhan, and former CGC President (and current Senior Consignment Director for Heritage Auctions) Steve Borock, and Scoop’s own J.C.Vaughn, among others.

This location has free parking, and it offers overnight RV hookups for $25. Hotels in the area average less than $60.

Additional information on the show will be available soon, but in the meantime you can check their site for the full guest list, tickets, special signings and other opportunities, and more.

The Virginia Comic-Con will also have a one-day show on September 15.
