No lie – Pinocchio’s #1 in Italy

Pinocchio, starring Life is Beautiful‘s wacky Roberto Benigni,
promised to be something else. And as Italian box office totals are continuing
to prove, it is. According to The Washington Post, the film set a new
record for first weekend returns, taking in more than $6.93 million.
While
critical reviews are mixed, something tells us a few nay-saying critics won’t
stop Pinocchio from being wildly successful all over again when it comes to the
States later this year.
