Prime Video has dropped the first trailer for Spider-Noir giving the first look at Nicolas Cage in the live-action role of Spider-Man Noir. The trailer quickly establishes two things: that the series will be stylish and that Cage will utilize his signature scene chewing talent.

Cage plays Ben Reilly, an aging, down and out private investigator who wrestles with his past life and his present attempts to be New York’s superhero. The trailer begins in full noir style with deep shadows, a fedora-wearing hero, 1930s car, dramatic angles, and the femme fatale (Li Jun Li).

Ben recounts the ticks, thoughts, and impulses that he suppresses, causing alarm in journalist Robbie Robertson (Lamorne Morris), and leading to surreal flashes of what appears to be medical testing. Ben fights in a bar in full Spider-Noir costume, Robbie takes a hidden picture and looks frightened by the subject matter, and many more disparate shots follow before we see Spider-Noir swinging through the city.

Created by David Hine, Fabrice Sapolsky, and Carmine Di Giandomenico, Spider-Man Noir debuted as a part of the Marvel Noir comic line. In his first story set during the Great Depression era, Spider-Man takes on New York’s criminal underworld that is led by Norman Osborn.

This is Cage’s first appearance as the character in live-action; he originally voiced the character in the 2018 animated film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Joining Cage in the cast are Karen Rodriguez, Brendan Gleeson, Andrew Lewis Caldwell, Jack Huston, and Abraham Popoola.

Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot will act as co-showrunners, who developed the series with the Into the Spider-Verse team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Harry Bradbeer is directing the first two episodes.

Spider-Noir is an eight-episode series that will start streaming on Prime Video on May 27, 2026. Viewers will have the option to watch show in black and white (keeping with the 1930s film noir theme) or in True-Hue full color.
