A new trailer has debuted for the upcoming Pixar film Soul, providing more context for the kind of story that viewers can expect to see from the popular animation studio.

The film will explore death, and what happens to one’s soul after they pass on. Joe Gardner (Jaime Foxx), a middle school music teacher, comes close to achieving his dream of performing jazz on stage, only to suffer from an untimely accident that leaves him in a coma and separates his soul from his body. His consciousness ends up in the “You Seminar” where young souls develop and gain quirks before being transferred into a newborn; Joe meets 22 (Tina Fey) who refuses to be transferred after failing to learn what’s so great about living. Joe and 22 must work together to get Joe’s soul back into his body before it’s too late.

Soul additionally features the voices of Daveed Diggs and Phylicia Rashad. The film arrives on June 19, 2020.
