Disney put The New Mutants back on the schedule, targeting a theatrical release date on August 28, 2020.

This date could change again, though, if theaters are not fully operational at that point. Movie theaters in Texas and Georgia, among other areas that have been less impacted by COVID-19 have started to reopen. But if large market areas in major cities are not open, the movie’s release could get bumped again.

The New Mutants had been pulled from its schedule in March when theaters started shutting down or only offering limited seating. This follows several delays that the movie has faced over the last two years.

Additional changes to Disney’s schedule that were already announced include moving Mulan to July 24, Black Widow to November 6, and The Eternals to February 12, 2021.
