New England Toy Train Exchange will be auctioning the oldest operating toy
train
layout in America as part of their next Toy Train auction. The
auction is scheduled to have over 700 lots listed. It will be held on September
10, 2005 in Fairfield Connecticut.

The train layout is an 8 X 12
Carlisle & Finch Mining Train set that dates back to 1905. It has been
featured in the Mc Comas & Thouy’s “Greatest Train Layouts” Books and
Videos. Recently seen on display at the TCA Convention in Seattle, this amazing
piece of Americana is attracting attention form train collectors everywhere.
