MyComicShop’s Prime Auction Opens July 5
MyComicShop’s July Prime Auction opens July 5, 2025, and for their final preview, they are showcasing some of the original art that’ll be up for bid.
Stuart Immonen and Jose Marzan Jr.’s original cover for the 1999 Elseworlds Flashpoint #1 is one of the more interesting pieces they’ve ever run, per MyComicShop. The story’s divergence from the main DC Universe begins when the Flash is struck by the bullet intended to kill President John F. Kennedy, leaving him paralyzed. While the interior pages and story remained unchanged, the Kennedy estate objected to the imagery being used on the cover and so Immonen and Marzan drew a new background featuring an older, wheelchair-bound Barry alongside Iris and enemy-turned ally Vandal Savage.
Other highlights include an action-packed Curse of Spawn #24 double page splash by Clayton Crain, a Hellboy commission by Adi Granov that features crosshatching, and the dramatic Astonishing X-Men #11 opening page by John Cassaday.
In addition to the weekly and quarterly Prime Auctions on their website, MyComicShop recently started streaming auctions through eBay Live where they can talk to collectors while offering a wide range of comics. Collectors can participate with their eBay account either through their app or website and see upcoming auctions on MyComicShop’s profile. They will be hosting a quick pre-July 4 stream on July 3 and then they’ll be back on July 11 with a Superman-focused auction.
In addition to buying and accepting consignments through the mail, MyComicShop can travel to assess and pick up large collections as well as coordinate around conventions across the country. MyComicShop will be attending OAFCon in Norman, Oklahoma on September 26-28; Baltimore Comic-Con in Baltimore, Maryland on October 17-19; and Collector’s Summit in Dallas on November 8-9.
Collectors can contact MyComicShop’s Seller Services department at (817) 670-8115 or sellerservices@mycomicshop.com to arrange to drop off books or art at a show or to learn if MyComicShop is able to pick up items on their way back to Texas.
