Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for Morbius, featuring Jared Leto as the Living Vampire/antihero, and it has bite!

The trailer is completely focused on Michael Morbius’ transformation from very sick doctor to superpowered individual with a thirst for blood. The origin story shows Morbius discovering his exciting new abilities and frightening proclivities, causing curiosity and panic around him. The trailer also builds on the previous promotions for the movie by showing several shots of his physical transformation.

The movie’s premiere date has been shifted multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was originally scheduled for July 10, 2020, then was bumped back to July 31. From there it was delayed to March 2021, then October 2021. The trailer does not give a specific day, however, it does state that Morbius is now slated for theatrical release in January 2022.

Morbius is directed by Daniel Espinosa (Life). The cast includes Michael Keaton, Adria Arjona, Tyrese Gibson, Matt Smith, and Jared Harris.
