Monopoly at Kruger Street Toy & Train Museum
Celebrating the legacy of Monopoly, likely the most popular boardgame of all time, the Kruger Street Toy & Train Museum is featuring an exhibit of the economically entertaining game. Set in Wheeling, West Virginia the museum’s exhibit began February 9, 2008 and runs through June 27.
With innumerable incarnations, Monopoly has been translated into many languages, taken on many themes, and been upgraded to match our technological lifestyles. In September of 2007 the museum gained a large Monopoly collection from Sheldon Klasky of Minnesota. He’d collected the games and related items from all over the world for forty years. The items span a time frame from vintage 1935 to present day, with many rare and unusual versions of the game, including foreign language and themed copies.
