Moderns Only For CGC On-Site At Philly
since then they have certified vast numbers of vintage and modern comics On-Site
at numerous conventions.
Comics Guaranty, LLC (CGC) has just informed
Scoop that they will be certifying only Modern Tier submissions (1975 and
after) at Wizard World Philadelphia June 3-5. CGC will be accepting all levels
of submissions that can be brought back and graded at their home office in
Florida saving the submitter the one-way cost of postage and insurance and
hassle of shipping.
“We’ve made this decision for a number of reasons
all of which will better serve our customers,” commented CGC President and
Primary Grader Steve Borock.
Borock stated that when CGC first debuted
On-Site Grading they did so to gain stronger visibility with collectors and
dealers. “We’ve opted for this change as we receive not only a large number of
Modern submissions at cons, but by doing so we will be better able to
accommodate all our customers especially those who are mailing in
submissions.”
By making the noted changes to their On-Site services CGC
is looking to establish better turn around times for all submissions and to
continue to offer their customers the unparalleled service that they have come
to expect from CGC.
