Mine is a Long Lonesome Grave #4
Oni; $4.99
Harley Creed spent years in prison and when he got out all he wanted to do was make sure his estranged daughter, Maybelle, was okay. But his hometown in West Virginia wasn’t exactly welcoming and someone put a curse on him, giving him seven days to live. Since then, Harley has been working his way through the Weaver gang to end the curse by killing whoever set it up in the first place.
The third issue ended with the shocking news that Granny Weaver, the person Harley was convinced had cursed him, was actually dead. Armed with that news, Harley has to confront the fact that someone else wants him dead. Once he puts those pieces together, important parts of his backstory come to light for one last surprise.
Mine is a Long Lonesome Grave by Justin Jordan is part crime, part horror comic. The characters are all pretty rough and their demons, figuratively and literally, are present in the story. As Harley goes on a killing spree through the Weaver gang, artist Maan House and colorist Alessandro Santoro paint malevolent spirits in the background. This illustrates how they have poisoned their lives with hate and violence, and the curse of not learning from the past.
