Michael Golden Exhibit in Manhattan
The Society of Illustrators in Manhattan will feature an exhibit of Michael Golden originals this month for a limited time. With a membership that has included Montgomery Flagg and N.C. Wyeth, the Society of Illustrators is a paramount club of renowned artists. It has also become an artistic home for today’s best illustrators, and Golden is one of them.
He’s been a member since last year, inducted the same night as Neal Adams and Basil Gogos. His artwork is on display in the third floor gallery next to prominent artists Rockwell, Lyndecker, Parrish, and Sl’s Oak carved bar and marching drum that was signed by Society of Illustrators members from the past and present, including Frank Frazetta. The Michael Golden exhibit contains diverse pieces of his work, including the six page sequential segment “The Sniper” depicting one of the first appearances of characters from The ‘Nam as well as canvas work of X-Men and Jurassic Park.
Known for his work on The ‘Nam, Micronauts, and G.I. Joe, Golden has currently done covers of Iron Man, Exiles, Wonder Woman and soon Wolverine and Demon’s Regret. He’s also being honored with an exhibition of original art this year at the Barcelona Comic Con.
