Metropolis Collectibles is proud to announce their eBay auctions of an extraordinary collection of original artwork.

Leading the grouping is a Snoopy illustration drawn by Peanuts creator, Charles Schulz.  Peanuts is one of the great American pop culture creations of the past century, and Schulz is universally admired as one of the finest-ever American cartoonists. This extraordinary find is a large, beautiful piece personally drawn by the master himself of his most enduring creation, the loveable, mischievous beagle named Snoopy!

The collection at auction also includes a large grouping of DC Bronze and Silver Age original comic art, including an amazing lot of 74 classic Bronze-era DC War pages from the great Sam Glanzman and Russ Heath!

DC’s war comics boasted some of the finest art of the Bronze and Silver Age. In such esteemed titles as G.I. Combat, Our Army at War, and Our Fighting Forces, appeared works from comics greats Russ Heath, Sam Glanzman, and many more! This incredible, one-of-a-kind collection of awesome, action-packed original art is a tremendous sampling of pages from these truly great books and artists! Featuring the steely Sgt. Rock and the compelling Haunted Tank, in mortal combat with the Nazi menace in the throes of WWII — PLUS a rare find: a complete eight page story from Our Army at War issue 226 (see first image)! This collection is comprised of pages that, in many instances, would sell for $25-$100 or more apiece, but are available at a terrific rate in this instant collection!  Includes examples of the classic two-page spreads that became a trademark of this era of DC war titles, and power-packed action panels featuring the central characters battling valiantly against their despicable foes!

Metropolis’ auctions also include DC Silver Age pages from Mike Sekowsky; Classics Illustrated pages from Graham Ingels;  classic ’60s and ’70s newspaper strips, including Moon Mullins and the Katzenjammer Kids;  political cartoons of Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, and many more.  Go to Metropolis’ eBay auctions (starting Thursday, October 4, 2007)  for full auction details, or contact Sales Executive Frank Cwiklik at orders@metropoliscomics.com.
