As Scoop was going to press, the results from the three days of
strong bidding in the Hake’s Summer Auction were beginning to come in. the early
results offer proof that the collecting hobby is in fine shape all around. Toys
saw high marks, with other notable sales in advertising and television
memorabilia.

“After the first day’s political lots, we realized that the
collectors were out in full force,” said Alex Winter, the General Manager of
Hake’s Americana. “As the second day began to unfold we saw the turnout
increase. Lots such as the Mego Robin and Aquaman saw a lot of attention as did
a Honeymooners Bus Driver’s Costume.”

The event ended on June 29, 2006.
