McDonald’s Pop Culture Commercial Collage
Last Friday McDonald’s shared their new marketing approach, capitalizing on the “love” part of their tagline, “I’m lovin’ it.” A spokesperson for the company said that the new approach will focus on love with a more positive, uplifting message.
The new campaign began on January 3, 2015 with a commercial featuring multiple sets of enemies sharing a friendly moment. The pop culture couplings include Batman and the Joker, fans of the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers, the Smurfs and Gargamel, Freddy from Nightmare on Elm Street and Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, and plenty of others.
Hopefully we’ll be treated to more of these pairings, maybe Han Solo and Jabba the Hutt will share some chicken nuggets in an upcoming ad. In the meantime, check out the pop culture character-filled commercial.
