Netflix has provided the first look at the upcoming Masters of the Universe: Revelation animated series. The artwork for the highly anticipated show was first released to Entertainment Weekly, featuring He-Man, Skeletor, and the rest of Eternia’s cast.

Writer-director and pop culture superfan Kevin Smith is serving as showrunner for Masters of the Universe: Revelation. The animated series was designed by Powerhouse Animation, harkening back to the 1980s cartoon with a story that follows those adventures.

Prince Adam is from the ruling family of Eternia and uses the Sword of Power to become He-Man. As the hero, he defends the kingdom from Skeletor and his colorful group of henchmen. Building on that history, this animated series will dig into different aspects of the characters, their lore, and their motivation.

The all-star voice cast includes Chris Wood (Supergirl) as Prince Adam/He-Man, Mark Hamill as Skeletor, Lena Headey as Evil-Lyn, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Teela, Alicia Silverstone as Queen Marlena, Kevin Conroy as Mer-Man, and Alan Oppenheimer (the original voice of Skeletor) as Moss Man.

The series will be split into two parts, with the first five episodes dropping on Netflix on July 23, 2021.
