The undead are taking a bite out of Marvel comics in October 2025 with a new slate of Marvel Zombies variant covers. Ten covers will depict Marvel heroes as murderous brain eating monsters, drawn by several popular modern comic artists.

The covers are part of the launch of the Marvel Zombies: Red Band five-issue limited series that begins on September 17, 2025. Published under Marvel’s Red Band imprint, the new era of Marvel Zombies is written by Ethan S. Parker with art by Griffin Sheridan and Jan Bazaldua.

The Marvel Zombies Halloween covers start with Spirits of Violence #1 by Kyle Hotz (October 1), Eddie Brock: Carnage #9 by Rod Reis (October 8), and Death of the Silver Surfer #5 by Ron Lim (October 15).

Titles out on October 22 include Miles Morales: Spider-Man #39 by Jeremy Wilson, Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu #13 by Ivan Shavrin, and Spider-Girl #5 by Corin Howell.

The October 29 titles are All-New Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider #3 by Lucio Parrillo, Black Cat #3 by Maria Wolf, Emma Frost: The White Queen #5 by Joëlle Jones, and Thor #3 by Juan Ferreyra.

Marvel Zombies were introduced in a limited series written by The Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman with art by Sean Phillips and covers by Arthur Suydam. The series is set in an alternate universe where superheroes have been infected by a virus that has turned them into flesh eating zombies. It spun out of an Ultimate Fantastic Four crossover in which zombie Reed Richards tricked the Ultimate version of Reed into opening a portal to a zombie world. The five-issue series ran from February 2006 to June 2006.

Since then, the Marvel Zombies made an appearance in an episode of the What If…? Disney+ animated series. Their next move will be to star in their own Disney+ Marvel Zombies series, that starts on September 24.
