Marvel Studios took to the stage in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con to reveal casting news, announce new movies, and tease Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was master of ceremonies, presenting each portion of the panel and welcoming several MCU stars to the stage.

“Today, we’re mainly going to talk about movies. We’re mainly going to talk about movies because that is what brings us together in the world,” Feige said during the panel.

Marvel Studios announced that a new Ghost Rider film is now in the works with Ryan Gosling starring in the movie. Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine) is directing the movie and it is scheduled for release in 2028. The pair appeared on stage to briefly talk about the project with Levy sharing that the two discussed their ideas for the character while they were filming Star Wars: Starfighter.

Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and series stars Letitia Wright and Winston Duke announced the third movie in the franchise. They introduced David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus) as the next Black Panther. He is starring as the son of T’Challa (a character introduced in the second movie), who will come of age during the new film and take the mantle of Black Panther.

A portion of the panel was devoted to Avengers: Doomsday, featuring directors Joe and Anthony Russo and several cast members. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Hayley Atwell, Simu Liu, Tenoch Huerta, David Harbour, Hannah John Kamen, Lewis Pullman, and Danny Ramirez, were joined by returning X-Men actors James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, and Kelsey Grammer.

They showed an exclusive look at the movie, and gave attendees posters, a Doom mask, and cape. The hall turned green when Downey came out, and he talked about portraying a major villain and thanked the fans for the response when it was revealed at the 2024 Hall H panel that he would play Doctor Doom. “When ya’ll had faith in me two years ago, you lifted me up, and I think we made something real special,” he said to the crowd.

In a comedic twist, Ryan Reynolds appeared at the panel in a blue-gray Deadpool costume to ask the cast questions and imply that he would like to be in the movie.

Before Avengers: Doomsday is released on December 18, Avengers: Endgame is heading back to theaters. The movie, which originally came out in the spring of 2019, will return to the big screen on September 25.

Jon Bernthal took the stage to show a clip from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, days before the movie’s release on July 31. The footage showed Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Punisher working together to face the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).
