Marvel Celebrates Disability Pride Month with 4-Part Story & Variants
During Disability Pride Month in July 2026, Marvel is showcasing its heroes with disabilities who represent resilience and strength through adversity. Daredevil, Misty Knight, Echo, Hawkeye, Silhouette, and Finesse will join forces to save Colleen Wing from a deadly threat in a four-part story.
Marieke Nijkamp (Hawkeye: Kate Bishop) is writing and Andrea Di Vito (Emma Frost: The White Queen) is drawing the special backup stories that will be told in Amazing Spider-Man #32, Uncanny X-Men #31, Fantastic Four #14, and Wolverine #24. All four will be on sale in July.
The stories are part of the Marvel’s Voices program that “explores the multitude of unique backgrounds, journeys, and identities found in the Marvel Universe,” according to Marvel’s press release.

Each issue comes with a Disability Pride variant cover. Amazing Spider-Man #32 has covers by Jamie McKelvie and Leinil Francis Yu, Uncanny X-Men #31 has a variant cover by David Mack, Fantastic Four #14 has a variant by Aaron Kuder, and Wolverine #24 has a Disability Pride variant cover by Stephen Segovia.
“It may sound a bit cheesy to say this is a dream project, but for these stories, I got to bring together a roster of spectacular heroes and write an epic adventure that’s all about strength in community. It really is a dream come true.” Nijkamp said.
“Superheroes are meant to inspire us to be better, but sometimes we forget that the greatest inspirations come from real life,” Di Vito said. “People with disabilities prove to each and every one of us that the true measure of our worth is our spirit and our will, not the limitations of our bodies.”
