This year marks two significant events for Back to the Future. Earlier this year the first film celebrated its 30th anniversary, which was originally released on July 3, 1985. Then this week, on October 21, 2015 fans of the family friendly sci-fi trilogy celebrated Back to the Future Day: the date that Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to in Part II.

Driving fans wild, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as Marty and Doc. Twenty-six years after the release of Part II, the pair showed up in the DeLorean wearing the same costumes from the movie – including Marty’s puffy vest and Doc’s white jumpsuit.

They performed a skit with Kimmel discussing what happened in the past 30 years. Kimmel mystifies Marty and Doc by explaining smart phones and the lack of flying cars. Keep an eye out for another surprise guest during the skit.

Later Fox reappeared as himself to discuss making Back to the Future, his Brooklyn commencement speech, self-lacing Nikes, and the Marty McFly action figure.

It’s heavy, Doc!
