Red Skelton remains one of the best known and most influential names in both the comedy and entertainment industries. From his earliest days in the circus, to vaudeville, to the radio airwaves and finally on television, Skelton was at the forefront of change and innovation in entertainment.

The Red Skelton Show remains one of the best examples of his television work, and a recently released DVD set proves that. Red Skelton: The Lost Episodes collects 16 episodes from seasons 8 through 11, when the variety show was a half-hour long. Fans of Skelton’s will see some of his best known characters, from Sheriff Deadeye to George Appleby. Guest stars include Eve Arden, Vivian Vance, Sebastian Cabot, Fabian, and Amanda Blake.

The two-disc set came out in February 2014 and retails for just under $15, making it an easy and affordable option for fans of classic television.

Fans of Red Skelton will also want to see the signed “Amigo” clown painting print in Hake’s Americana and Collectibles next auction. Measuring 18.5” by 22.5 in an ornate frame it contains a high quality canvas transfer print that gives the appearance of the original painting’s texture. This limited edition print is hand numbered “129/2,000” on the back of the canvas.
