Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld is reviving Avengelyne, the demon-fighting angel, for a new series. Artist Daniel Mainé (Lord of the Jungle) is joining Liefeld for the return of the 1990s era title, which will start in October 2026. In addition to the new comic from Image, a movie adaptation is already in development by Warner Bros.

“Avengelyne is all the way back! Finding a creative partner on par with Daniel Mainé was essential in creating these new adventures,” Liefeld said. “Daniel is blowing me away, a perfect match for our Avengeing Angel! As with all my titles, I wait until the right talent manifests and I wouldn’t be doing this without Daniel, his work is certain to impress!”

Liefeld co-created Avengelyne with Cathy Christian and Tony Lobito, introducing her in Avengelyne: Deadly Sins #1 (February 1995). The angel fought monsters and demons appeared in dozens of one-shots and limited series throughout the ‘90s from Maximum Press, Image, Avatar Press, and other publishers.

In the new Avengelyne series, she meets a priest who is struggling with his faith and is on the radar of wealthy demon lord, Belisle. She is also being sought by demonic forces that want her to turn to their side.

The first issue come with cover A by Mainé, cover B (NSFW polybagged variant) by Liefeld, cover C by Diógenes Neves (Spider-Verse Unlimited Infinity Comics), cover D by Shannon Maer (Harley Quinn), cover E by Dan Lawlis (Starlord), cover F (legacy variant) by Andy Park (who was a primary artist on the original Avengelyne series), and cover G by Ben Bradi (The Phantom).

Avengelyne #1 is scheduled for release on October 7, 2026.
