Todd McFarlane Productions has revealed that King Spawn #50 cover H will be a 1:1,000 raw pencil virgin variant. Each copy of cover H will include an original, hand-drawn Spawn sketch that is inserted into the book.

A total of 50 orders will get sketches by McFarlane himself. The rest of the sketches will come from Spawn Universe artists, including Jonathan Glapion, Carlo Barberi, Brett Booth, Stephen Segovia, and Jason Shawn Alexander. Every copy of cover H will be signed by McFarlane.

Each one will include a CGC certificate verifying that the book and signature are eligible for the CGC Signature Series program. The certificate can also be used to authenticate the inserted sketch.

McFarlane has stated that he won’t sign them again, making this the only opportunity to acquire one that is signed.

“The rarity of the low print run of the 1:1,000 along with doing a batch of sketches is not something we do. So, to be able to combine two retailer incentives into one (the rare book and sketch) for those retailers that decide to participate, is a way of me trying to make sure they get their value back and more,” McFarlane said. “There is a strong chance that less than 100 of the Cover H books will be printed, which will make it one of the most difficult books to find in the future.”

This special variant is part of the 50/50/50 Program for King Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, and The Scorched. As each of the series reach their 50th issue throughout the year, all three will get matching premium variant covers and interconnection in the stories.

It starts with a new crossover beginning in King Spawn #50 with the return of something powerful and ancient. The book will feature two chapters with art by Carlo Barberi and Stephen Segovia. Covers will be provided by McFarlane, Skottie Young, Mark Spears, and Puppeteer Lee.
