Practice the crane kick because it’s time for Reunited Apart with the cast of The Karate Kid.

In April 2020 actor Josh Gad started hosting an online program to gather casts from popular movies of the ‘80s and ‘90s over Zoom for reunions. For the latest episode, he invited the stars of The Karate Kid to reunite – just days before the third season of Cobra Kai becomes available on Netflix.

The show started with principal actors from the ‘80s classic, including Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Elisabeth Shue, Randee Heller, Ron Thomas, and Tony O’Dell. But it quickly became the biggest episode of Reunited Apart yet when Gad invited in cast members from The Karate Kid Part II, Part III, and Cobra Kai, as well as the film’s writer and creators of Cobra Kai.

Throughout the packed episode, the stars discussed their auditions, favorite scenes, and who actually had martial arts training prior to the film. The Karate Kid writer Robert Mark Kamen provided insight into the writing and casting process. They also shared memories of working with Pat Morita. When cast members from Cobra Kai were invited in, the younger generation talked about watching the movie for the first time and gave vague responses about what’s to come in the next season.
