Kara & Krypto’s Bond is at the Center of New Supergirl Trailer
Kara Zor-El has lived through an immense tragedy and now her number one bond is with her faithful dog, Krypto. That relationship is in danger in the latest trailer for Supergirl.
It opens with a video message from Superman (David Corenswet), while Kara Zor-El/Supergirl (Milly Alcock) and Krypto play fetch in space. A flashback to before Krypton was destroyed shows Krypto as a precocious puppy and Zor-El (David Krumholtz) saying goodbye to Kara before launching her away from the dying planet. The bond between Supergirl and Krypto is reinforced before the happy pup is shot with a poisonous dart by Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts).

Kara and new traveling buddy Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley) have three days to get the antidote from the Brigands. Ruthye tells Kara that Krem murdered her whole family and the two enter a den of miscreants where they encounter Lobo (Jason Momoa). As Supergirl and Ruthye deal with their grief, they engage in multiple fights on the quest for Krypto’s cure. Lobo brings some levity to the serious trailer, and we see Supergirl flexing her powers.
This is Alcock’s first starring role as Supergirl, following her cameo in 2025’s Superman when she drunkenly stumbles into the Fortress of Solitude to pick up Krypto. Momoa is returning to DC in the new role as the Main Man, after his three appearances as Aquaman from before James Gunn and Peter Safran became co-heads of DC Studios.

Supergirl is directed by Craig Gillespie (Cruella) and written by Ana Nogueira. It also stars Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll, Diarmaid Murtagh as Drom Baxton, Alice Hewkin as Sklarian Raider, and Wil Coban as Brute.
The movie heads to theaters on June 26, 2026.
